CURVING TEXT QUICKLY IN CORELDRAW A quick way to curve text is to draw an ellipse in the shape of the curve and then with the TEXT TOOL selected, hover your mouse over the edge of the ellipse. When the cursor turns into the "FIT TEXT TO PATH" cursor, which is an "A" with a curved line under it, click on the ellipse and start typing. Once you have finished your text, select it with the PICK TOOL and separate it from the ellipse by going to [ARRANGE-SEPARATE] or, in version 10 goto [ARRANGE-BREAK TEXT APART]. Corel still views it as a text object so you can still the change font type, size etc. Reshaping an object with the knife tool and TAB Key. Version 8 up. Draw an object and fill it with a colour. Select the Knife Tool, hover the Knife tool near the edge of your object, when it stands upright, Click-N-Drag the knife to the other side of the object, DO NOT LET GO OF THE MOUSE BUTTON. Remember the cut will only be activated when you see the knife tool stand upright again, you need to be hovering over the edge for the knife to stand upright again. NOW... before releasing the mouse button tap the TAB key, one portion of the object will disappear, tap it again and the reverse will happen. For this to work successfully, you must have the button " LEAVE AS ONE OBJECT TURNED OFF" you find this button on the property bar when you select the knife tool. RESTORING CORELDRAW TO DEFAULT FACTORY SETTINGS This can be a very handy shortcut if you have lost toolbars or CorelDraw is no longer performing or displaying as it use to. By Holding your finger on the F8 key as you start CorelDraw running, you will engage the factory default's. A dialogue box will appear asking if you wish to restore to default values.
